My passion for care began in 2014 following the completion of my Level 3 in Health and Social Care. A placement at Dorothy Goodman School confirmed that supporting individuals with additional needs was the career path I wished to pursue. I subsequently studied Psychology with Language Science and Linguistics at the University of Reading, where I undertook an additional placement within a special educational needs school in Berkshire. During this time, I developed a deeper understanding of how psychological principles and alternative approaches to communication can positively support individuals who present with behaviours that challenge.
Alongside my academic studies, I worked in domiciliary care, where I strengthened my commitment to advocacy and ensuring individuals receive compassionate, person-centred support tailored to their needs.
In 2016, I joined Heroic Care and have progressed from Support Worker to Senior Supported Living Manager. Over the course of nearly a decade, I have managed multiple supported living properties and led dedicated staff teams, consistently maintaining a hands-on, values-led approach to leadership and the delivery of high-quality care.
